हाल ही में जब मैं केदारनाथ जी की यात्रा पर था तो ये विचार आया जिसे आज मैंने संकलित किया है।

महादेव के किसी भी मंदिर में अगर आप जाओगे तो नंदी महाराज को हमेशा भगवान शिव की तरफ मुंह करके ही बैठा पाओगे। इसका शास्त्रसम्मत कोई विशेष कारण जरूर होगा। आध्यात्मिक रूप से कोई अर्थ जरूर होगा। लेकिन आज मैं जिस बात को कह रहा हूँ वो है उनकी प्रार्थना और प्रतीक्षा।

नंदी महाराज शाश्वत प्रतीक्षा का प्रतीक हैं, क्योंकि भारतीय संस्कृति में प्रतीक्षा को भी एक प्रकार से ध्यान और प्रार्थना माना गया है। नंदी महाराज को भगवान के अभी या कल बाहर आने की उम्मीद नहीं है। वह कुछ भी उम्मीद नहीं कर रहे हैं। उन्हें कुछ भी नही चाहिये। वह बस इंतजार कर रहे हैं।

बस यही गुण होना भक्ति है, प्रार्थना है, ध्यान है। एक बात और गौर करने की है कि नंदी महाराज बैठे तो हैं मगर बहुत सक्रिय, सजगता से भरे हुए, जीवन से भरपूर। यह बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है – वह सतर्क हैं, निंद्रा में नहीं। वह निष्क्रिय तरीके से नहीं बैठे हैं।

मेरे अनुसार प्रभुभक्तों के जीवन का ढंग भी इन तीन चार शब्दों में ही समाया हुआ है: प्रयास, पुरषार्थ, प्रार्थना और प्रतीक्षा। मेरा अभिप्राय उस समर्पणात्मक उच्च कोटि की प्रतीक्षा और प्रार्थना से है जो मनुष्य की उच्चता, सभ्यता और विकास का नैसर्गिक परिणाम है।

नंदी महाराज को देख कर ऐसा भी मन मे आता है कि वे उनसे बात करने की कोशिश नही कर रहे हैं, उन्हें सुनने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। हमें भी बस इस अस्तित्व को, सृष्टि की परम प्रकृति को सुनना है, समझना है। यही नंदी महाराज का गुण है – कहने के लिए कुछ नहीं, बस सुनना है, उन्हें निहारना है, उनके आदेश की प्रतीक्षा करनी है।

आपके पास भी बस नंदी महाराज सा गुण होना चाहिए – बैठने का, ध्यान का प्रतीक्षा का प्रार्थना का। न तो स्वर्ग जाने की कोशिश और न ही यह या वह पाने की कोशिश – बस स्वयं के भीतर विराजमान उनके तत्व का, अपने आराध्य देव का, भगवान का ध्यान, प्रतीक्षा और प्रार्थना।

बस हमारे लिये भी यही प्रार्थना का मतलब है कि हम भगवान को सुनने के इच्छुक हैं। बैठने के लिये इच्छुक हैं। मगर निष्क्रियता से नही, सजगता से। चौबीस घंटे न सही पंद्रह मिनट के लिए बैठ जाएं प्रतीक्षा में नंदी जी की तरह, तो प्रार्थना हुई समझें। अगर थोड़ा भी प्रयत्न किया थोड़ी सी भी प्रार्थना की तो विश्वास मानिये की आपके जीवन में भी एक ऎसा नया द्वार खुल जायेगा, जिसका आपको अभी कोइ ख़याल भी नहीं।

याद रखिये की गिनती की साँसे हैं और अमूल्य को पाना है।

सब मंगल कामनाओं को पूर्ण करने वाले मेरे आराध्य प्रभु से आज मेरी प्रार्थना है की आपके जीवन से हर प्रकार की जल्दबाज़ी, हड़बड़ी, आतुरता, छल, कपट, ईष्र्या, द्वेष, प्रपंच और झूठ बोलने जैसे सभी विकार तथा दोष खत्म हो जायें और नंदी महाराज सा धैर्य, आत्मसंयम, शांति, स्थिरता, सामर्थ्य आ जाये और आपका ह्रदय उन्ही की तरह सदैव प्रेम, विनम्रता, अहोभाव एवं प्रार्थना से भरा रहे।

आपके सभी शुभः संकल्प और उद्देश्य जल्द ही पूरे हों तथा आने वाला प्रत्येक नया दिन आपके घर संसार में ढेरों ढेर नई खुशियां लेकर आये, इन्ही कामनाओं के साथ साथ मैं आज उनसे ये एक बार पुनः प्रार्थना करता हूँ कि आप सदैव स्वस्थ रहें और दीर्घायु हों। मंगल शुभकामनाएं 💐

After an age, your markers of success become how well you sleep at night, how many pages you read or write, how much you travel, how many times you eat & drink what you actually relish, how many times you laugh until it hurts, the knowledge of the comfort of your loved ones & their good health, how much time you spend storytelling, praying your God & feeling warm in the arms, homes & company of people you love & adore.

Darling listen – if you have peace of mind & can easily attend, appreciate & enhance each positive experience that occurs in your life, then that’s the definition of success for me & some others at this point of time.

Sweetheart, all I want or suggest to you is that do not let your insipid & vapid or wishy-washy things, that you are so much into, prevent you from living a real successful & fulfilling life…
